Sound card help
I'd like to know if it's possible to set up my sound card such that some sounds come through the front headphones jack on the case, and some come through the sound card ports on the back.
I'm using an NZXT case with a front audio in, a front audio out. The soundcard is an onboard realtek HD sound card on a gigabyte X48-DQ6 model motherboard. My OS is XP SP 3. The board drivers came with a program called realtek audio manager, and it has port detection for the various jacks, of which there are front mic and front headphone. But when i try to use a headset, all sound goes through it, which is not what i want at all. For example: I want to hear ventrilo through the headset, and only ventrilo. I want to hear everything else through the main pc speakers. |

Nope. It's an all-or-nothing deal.
With Windows Vista and Windows 7, I believe there is the option to control volume levels for each running application. You *might* be able to direct audio like that with a professional level sound card, but maybe someone else who has one would be able to verify this.

You MIGHT be able to do it with a USB headset.

Anyone know off the top of their heads any sound cards that can do such a thing? a gaming soundcard perhaps?
