TV Tuner - Hauppauge 2250 - no clear QAM?

Hi all, i recently bought and installed the Hauppauge 2250 TV tuner. I am able to get analog signal just fine from my cable set-top-box. But I can't seem to get a digital signal. I have plugged in the cable from the wall into my set top box and then plugged a cable from the "cable out" in my set top box into my "cable in" coaxial input on my TV tuner card. I just installed Windows 7 also. whenever I change channels in Windows Media Center, nothing happens. I have to change channels on my set top box. This makes me think that I can only view analog at the moment. Does anyone have any input on this? Thanks.

In order to be able to change channels with the card, it has to be connected directly to the incoming cable, and then you should have ClearQAM.

so I was able to get 7 Clear QAM channels though they seemed to be different from what the guide was saying. I got so much more through my set top box without going through a computer. so I decided to try and re-set it up so that I just get an analog signal with channel changing handled by my set top box. I am coming up upon a "IR Hardware not detected" error message during the tv signal setup process. i plugged in the IR receiver/blaster into my tv tuner card so I dunno why this is happening. has anyone or does anyone else have this problem?
