Video Problems

I'm getting weird streaking in the BIOS which is making me think there is a hardware problem with my video card. My system is:
Intel E6600 @ 2.4 Ghz
4GB ram
Win 7 pro x64
nvidia 8800 GTS 320MB

I have tried using different drivers but it does not seem to do any good. Windows just goes to a black screen now when it tries to boot normally (it was BSODing a few times before that). Safe mode seems to work just fine though.

I've attached some logs and screenshots, let me know if you need more info. Any help at all would be great, thanks guys.

That is usually defective video ram or GPU that causes that, unless it's overheating. However, what is the brand and model of your power supply?

Thanks for replying glc. The power supply is a Corsair hx520w. Could the issue be that the card is not getting enough power?

I have suspected in the past that the power supply does not have enough Wattage to give all of my components power. This is because my DVD burner is frequently not recognized and I have to switch the SATA cables with my secondary HDD for the system to recognize it again.

That power supply should easily be able to handle your parts. See if you can install Asus PC Probe to monitor voltage and CPU/Motherboard temps, as well as either speedfan or GPU-Z to monitor graphics card temps.

I've used a HX520 to power a lot stronger systems than yours, and failures are almost unheard of. I was just trying to make sure you weren't using a weak unit.

Well I bought a cheap temporary video card to see if that's what was causing the multitude of errors and sure enough everything is running perfectly fine.

I was unable to run the monitoring programs in safe mode and not able to run Windows normally with the 8800 gts in but now I can. GPU 40c, CPU 45c, CPU fan 1997 RPM. Everything seems fine to me so I'm not sure what happened but I guess that means I'm in the market for a new gfx card, any recommendations for a nice mid-range?

Yeah, I was actually looking at the gtx 260 but I ended up going with this card: Galaxy GeForce GTS 250 I figure this will last me a little while till I put together a new build.
