New HD Tv and Wii

Hope this can go here my biggest issue is finding where my threads can go. Just got a new HD 1080 DPI tv. Now if I understand there is no hd hook up for a WII there are componet cables would the cables give me a better picture or is what I have it hooked up to now (the stuff right out of the box) about the best I can do? Let me rephrase would componet cables give me a significant performance gain? Thanks

Okay, this topic has to do with video, right? That means it should go in the forum that has to do with video. I have moved it for you.

I don't know if it would call the difference significant to the point where it's a night and day difference but component cables *can* improve the picture. If you want the best possible picture from your Wii on an HDTV then component cables are your best bet. You could also try adjusting the picture settings on the TV. Many "enhancements" available in the TV menus (and usually on by default) do nothing more than degrade the picture. Contrary to the logic of it's name, the sharpness control really doesn't make anything sharper. It tends to introduce white ringing around objects and cause motion artifacts from lower resolution signals to become more apparent.
