Pick me a video card!

So, my computer currently consists of:

Intel core 2 duo and 2.4 ghz..
Newish rosewill power supply (more than 600 watts)
2 gigs of ram.. (i need at LEAST 4, recommend some for me as well)
Asus MOBO (model number in signature)
ANDDDDD.... my failing =[ nvidia 7900gt ko...

I want to keep it under 200... preferably 150 bucks.

The only reason this computer is used is for gaming... Im in college, and just dont have the money to throw at it.

I have been a Nvidia user since i can remember, but im open to new if you can convince me.
Im running Windows 7 64 bit.

EDIT: I was thinking something like this

Thanks!

After thinking about it...

Nvidia has given me nothing but trouble for the 2 cards that i have purchased from them..
Both my 6800gt and my 7900gt ko failed..

Pick me an ATI that's comparable.

Here is a comparison between the 4890 & 4770: http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/g...d[2844]=on

Only you can decide if the increased performance of the 4890 is worth the extra $

its a nice card..you'll like it...

I also like my GTS-250 but it died...I baked it and brought it back but lord knows for how long...

I prefer the ATI brand for color clarity...

Asus GTS-250 cards as well as others suffer from poor solder joints when cold flowed...

the card quit during a reboot...I simply took the card out of the rig and baked it in the oven without the heatsink and shroud on 375 degrees for 10 minutes..and another 10 in the oven under no heat (cool down)

card came back to life...a quick google search will bring many pages of this...that how i got the idea...

A 4890 is a factory overclocked 4870.
