dynex 5.1 sound card driver problems - win 7

Recently picked a dynex 5.1 sound card up on ebay...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ht_4349wt_1137

My motherboard has awesome on board sound with all 6 of the jacks, but it dosen't have a audio digital output. That is the only reason why I got this card. I am currently in the process of trying to hook my pc up to my 42" 120hz tv and the digital surround sound system, and to do that a digital output for audio is crucial.

I got it today and have spent about 45 minutes trying to install the driver, but I just can't get windows 7 to get the device to be able to be used. The actual driver cd doesn't support win 7 but in the past i have been able to go to the device manager and just right click on the card and then browse the cd drive for the driver to get it installed.

Any suggestions? There has to be a way to get this working.

Sorry, it's not compatible with Vista or 7. You need to research compatibility BEFORE you buy something. The way sound is handled in Windows was completely changed with Vista, and XP drivers will not work. It's not like it used to be where you could use drivers from an older version of Windows.

I just saw this post while searching around on google, the card is compatible, the audio software isn't, but it does work, you just need the Envy24 drivers, you can find them on via's driver website http://www.via.com.tw/en/support/drivers.jsp

Has anyone been able to get the Envy drivers to work in Windows 7? I used them on a Vista machine and it worked fine, but I can't get the install to work on 7. I used Device Manager to manually update the drivers, and can see by the driver date that the drivers loaded, but I'm still not getting a lick of sound.
