Windows 7 not saving monitor settings

I recently updated the OS on my MCE box from XP to Windows 7. I am experiencing a unique issue regarding the video settings. My video card it a ATI All-in-Wonder 8500 and worked well with XP via the Catalyst software.

So, here is the issue. After rebooting the machine the video display is in a low-res setting. It is usable but wrong. If I right click and select catalyst software it changes the settings to what I thought would be the default.
I have never seen this before when using any other OS.

Is this a factor of the OS or the Windows 7 version of the Catalyst software?

Thanks.

Send a message via Skype™ to Nikon
make sure all the drivers and software you are using are compatable with windows 7 (also make sure its the correct 32 or 64 bit)

I used the guide on the ATI website to choose the drivers. I selected the 64bit drivers that were labeled compatible with Win 7

Maybe its the dpi.
1. Right click on the desktop, click on 'personalize'.
2. In the bottom left corner under 'see also' click on 'display'
3. the default is 'smaller -100%' or you can 'set custom dpi' from the left pane

The settings you're getting, probably 'are' the default for settings for catalyst. And it's being set properly. 'Your settings' for display are likely incorrect.

We just need to figure out what setting is creating the problem. What are you using for a monitor?

I am using a Sony 65" rear-projection TV. Don't know if that helps or not. I am working on the display settings right now.

Finally, got some time.
