I have a new Sony Bravia 40" LCD with VGA connection , currently on Directv , I want to utilize my VGA conn off my vid card GeForce Gt430 , it will take a 25'+ cord (vga) between .........shoulf I expect smoke or should this function , any idea how to wire audio connection ?

If the TV and the video card both have HDMI, that should carry both sound and video. That is the preferred method of connection these days. VGA will work, and for audio you will need a cord with a 1/8" stereo phone plug on one end and the correct plug/plugs for the TV audio input on the other end - it will be either the same phone plug or a pair of RCA plugs. Plug it into the line out jack on your motherboard.

vid card is fine
on my Samsung 23" monitor , wasnt sure if I would find the same on my 40" lcd , yes both have vga in\outs ....... are the white in outs hdmi's on my vid card? Is that supposed to coincide with the input from my directv .

No, the whites are DVI. HDMI kind of looks like a USB jack.
