streaming options

1) Is an upgraded Netflix or Hulu without commercials?

2) How would I stream my sports team?

3) Can I download an HD movie and watch later knowing my connections speed is only 2.8 Mbps

4) Would it actually work this way?

We are getting to the point of wanting to cut cable because of the cost. If the connections speed is to slow I believe I can go higher for about 10 more bucks a month. I would be saving about 80 on cutting cable.

Thanks.

Jim

Your connection speed is borderline for HD in Hulu+ but will work for standard.
I'm not enough of a sports fan to tell you about that but as an $8 a month Hulu+ subscriber I can tell you that it has a great set of shows and some good movies.
I supplement with iTunes for the occasional show but I don't have Netflix so can't help you there.
When my neighborhood got FiOS I went back to "cable" (sports fiends in residence) but I'm still keeping Hulu as it's a bargain for $8.

Thanks. I am going for the free trial. I am also contemplating the Roku box so I can use a remote and not have to mess with the laptop.....thoughts on that by chance?

I know 3 guys with the Roku box and they have no complaints.
As long as your ISP has nothing to say (check this out) it looks OK.
I use my iPad all around town so it was never an option for me.

Edit : Before I skip past this, Hulu is on line only. I can't say about Netflix.
Amazon allows downloads but only some shows/movies allow Roku (That was the last time I checked and no you don't need to be a Prime subscriber or own a Kindle Fire.).
