Changing the native res

On my LCD, the native resolution is the standard 1024x768. However, is it possible to make it larger, say 1600x1200 for example? Or if I did get it to be that size, would it be blurry like it is on 800x600?


Also, is there a prog that would enable me to do that?

The native resolution is how the lcd is built, if the native resolution is 1024x768 then your lcd has exactly that many pixels in that configuration for that resolution. The monitor will look best at that resolution. You cannot change the native resolution, but you can change the display resolution so much as your monitor and software will support it.

Right click blank desktop, select Properties, Advanced tab.
Slide the bar up to whatever res you want, hit Apply.

Generally LCD's won't let you go larger than there native resolution. If they do usually they won't show more than their native resolution at once, they will make you scroll to see the additional parts of the screen.

Most if not all will let you reduce the resolution which will result in a blury picture as previously mentioned. If you want a monitor of different resolution most people find the only suitable solution to is to buy another monitor.
