LCD Flat Panel Monitor Question
Does anyone have any suggestions on LCD Flat Panel Monitors. Please post good quality brands and where I can get them from. NewEgg.com is too expensive a TigerDirect is much cheaper. But I want other suggestions.

Samsung
NEC DELL Sharp Check out cnet for good reviews. Usually their customer views are also very helpful. I bought my LCD from amazon.com because I got a good price on it. Many of the current LCD's are coming down in price so it seems. Always remember, you get what you pay for. |

Is Sharp really a good brand? I know about Dell and NEC. But I never heard of sharp as being a good brand. How about Sony?

How about CTX?? I am looking for a 15" to free up some desk space, and it is only $258 w/ free shipping on newegg. it is the CTX PV500B. Or would it be worth it to spend a little more get a Samsung SyncMaster 151S or ViewSonic VE155B, both for $175? any comments would be appreciated.
thanks ^dan |

Sony and Iiyama both have some nice LCD's. Really there are tons of good ones out there. Lots of them are just readged ones from the same makers. One of the nicest I have seen is from IBM.
Although their specs aren't very impressive Apple's Cinema Displays are gorgeous to look at it. I always thought you couldn't use them with a PC but I was told the other day that you could. I didn't get that from a very good source however. |

The CTX at newegg is ok, but the KDS is a much better option for the 15" and 17" LCDs. Iiyama makes great monitors, but you pay for the quality. Sony monitors are ok, but you get a lot of trailing in games that you won't get with the Iiyama or KDS monitors.

Check your local wholesale club (Sam's, etc.) - the Sam's here has a Sceptre 15" for $250. This may not be a well known name, but they have been around for many years. If you can find a KDS, they have made a name for themselves with the RAD-series flatpanels, they are as good as the big names at a lower cost.

Around here Wal-mart sells the KDS Rad for around $279.
