Yes. LCD monitors are made of square pixels.

The Sony's I use have two slightly visisble gray lines that run across the screen about one third of the way from the top and the bottom of the screen. I have to look very hard to find them and against most colors they aren't visible at all. It doesn't bother me at all, although I have known some people that it annoys to no end.

The trinitrons are brighter and they display lines and objects more accurately so to me they are just about mandatory for precision design work. There are people that prefer other monitors but they are definitely in the minority.

Viewsonic Graphic series.

Sony is overrated and overpriced, only a status symbol!

I personally have never seen a Viewsonic I would own. But I hardly ever see one. They didn't used tomake theri own Monitors and tou never knew what you were going to get. Most of my customers use Mitsubishi or Sony.

The reason Sony's are considered to be be the best design Monitor is because their quality control is awesome. I very seldom run into one I can't adjust to near perfection if it even needs to be.

Seemed knid of dumb to start a new thread for this, so...

I had the opportunity to work on a trinitron CRT recently. Those grey lines were kind of annoying, but I didn't notice them after going deep into concentration on what I was working on.
