ati radeon

Is the ATI Radeon 9000 pro any good? That's about all I can afford due to all the other components I'm going to get.

i am absolutley no expert myself but i read a few posts around here (i think it was in the gaming forum) where it was said that the 8500 is better that the 9000. maybe do a search for this on the forums.

also just to check, which os are you going to use ? ati doesnt make certified drivers anymore for win9.x. there are drivers available though.

The 8500 does perform better than the 9000 that is why ATI did away with the 8500 title and made it the 9100. So, If you can scrounge up a little more $ I'd say go with the 9100. I don't know everything about this so hopefully more ATI lovers will come by and enlighten us.

The 8500/9100 is a better card than the 9000. You should have no problems with ATI products or drivers with XP.

go with the 8500, although that 9100 is a very similar card its core and memory speeds are slower

es: You sure about that? I thought the 9100 is just a rebadged 8500, same identical card.
