converting mp3 to midi??

is there a program that will convert an mp3 to a midi, without you having to control absolutely everything in the conversion, i want it to be exactly the same sound as mp3, except midi format, the programs i tried all make you choose the instrument and timings of every channel, and it impossible, there must be just a simple format converter out there that doesnt require such a lot of REAL hard work for something so small.

I think that's virtually impossible, because the midi format is not actually "sound" but just instructions to tell the hardware what instruments to synthesize. That's why midi files are so small.

I've only seen programs that convert a guitar or piano being played to MIDI. I fooled around with MIDIs for a loooong time before I got into MP3's.

MP3's are too complicated to convert. For example, imagine Aerosmith screaming in one of his songs. No try to imagine that reproduced as a MIDI. Nearly impossible. There's no synthesized sound that even resembles a sound like that.

it's not possible. those programs that convert guitar and stuff to midi just measure the sound coming out and convert it into a code that the computer understands.
