remote control
hey everyone,
i'm looking for a remote for my pc. i've seen some that come bundled with sound cards that use a ps/2 passthrough connector, and that's what i'm interested in... but not the sound card. does anyone know where i can get just the remote?

Hi homer15,
The only remotes I've seen are very component specific. In other words, an Audigy Platinum remote will work only with the Audigy, and so on.... Are you looking for a specific remote for a particular item? TwoRails |

no, i'm looking for an all around remote with programmable buttons. i'd want it to be able to control the volume on my machine, as well as manuever through dvd's. i saw an aopen sound card once that came with the remote and specific software for the remote, so i know something out there exists.

That was my point. You have to have a device that supports remote control, and then the remote for that specific device. You won't be able to control your DVDs unless you player / software supports remote and you have the remote for it.

I think that this is what you are looking for, but it is more expensive than buying the AOPEN card with the remote. I have an IR remote at home that is programmable, but I have no software for it. You could probably find it out there somewhere, but I got an AIW card shortly after buying it, so I never did anything with it. Let me know if you are interested, I'll get rid of it cheap.
