The sooner the 9800 Pro comes out, the sooner I can get my 9700 Pro for alot less money.

The 9700 is already down to the $250 mark but if they're right 9700pro is on it's way out, as is the 9500pro once the 9600pro is released.
If I wanted one I might think about doing my shopping now.

I didn't know a 9500 to 9800 mod was possible.
What soft-mod is that (?) and do you have any benchmarks?

You basically "convince" the drivers that the card is a 9800 and so it opens the other 4 pipelines (for a total of 8 of a 9700).I don't know what more it does to make it a 9800.
I got 11851 3dmarks (2001 se) on defaults (both ati control panel + 3d marks). ALL at full settings (best quality, maximum anti...etc..etc..) scored only 6981 =(

You download the latest catalysts + a "modded" file, and replace that file in the catalyst folder (where you unpacked the files for installation).
I'll see if I can find a link with the files.

Got it : http://www.maxdownloads.com/~ian/wizzard/

If you look under catalyst 3.2 you will see the file needed (9500 to 9800).
