Question Altec Lansing ATP3 or Logitech z340

I'm stuck between these two choices but the Logitech one is slightly cheaper than the Altec Lansing set. I was wondering if the cheaper Logitech is better than the Altec Lansing in terms of sound quality, or else I'll just take the Altec Lansing set. I'm not really a heavy gamer or DVD watcher, just a music appreciator. Not sure if sound cards do effect the output of the speakers but I have a SB Live! card...is that good enough? Please advise, thank you!

By the way, if you think I should get a different set of speakers other than these 2(within same price range as these 2, of course), please let me know too. ^_^

Sound cards do affect the output of speakers, but that SB Live! carb you have should do you just fine. I would reccommend the Altec Lansings because my friend has the ATP3's and they sound great for the price.

I am sure that the Logitech's are good also, just never heard them.

I had the ATP3 speakers, and sold them. They have good bass, but the quality isn't near what Logitech's is. I have used the Logitech's for a couple of builds for friends, and I think that they have a much better range of quality. The ATP3's have great low end, and ok high end.

At www.newegg.com the z340 speakers are $46 shipped. The z640 (5.1), which are awesome speakers, are $74 shipped -$20 mail-in rebate for a total of $54. The ATP3 speakers are $61 shipped from newegg.

Sabre Khan is in Malaysia, Newegg doesnt ship internationally.

I vote for the Logitechs though. They are the only speakers I recommend for people, due to the great sound for the price. Altecs are okay, I dont feel they produce sound as crisply as Logitechs.

Okay its going to be the Logitechs then. I have the ATP3 set at home but it belongs to my sister's computer so I guess it wouldn't hurt to get the Logitech for a change. Thanks for your feedbacks everyone!
