Maximum PC just compared the GF fx Ultra to the ATI 9800, and the 9800 whooped butt! And nVidia did not do anything to change their "hair dryer" sound-a-like cooling system.

Manufacturers for the FX seem to have solved the noise problem themselves though. The benchmarks themselves seem to be very divided.

there are 50.xx drivers in the works for nividia so maybe that might help them.
