PCI video cards...which one?
My little bro is looking to upgrade from the onboard graphics on this ole' compaq celly to something a little better...which shouldn't be too hard to accomplish. He dosent want to spend alot of money, but wants something good, so i went to newegg and picked these out.
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduc...ion=14-260-022 and/or http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduc...ion=14-145-019 Are either of these cards any good?? i really have no idea about pci cards and would be greatful for any suggestions. he is willing to spend around that much, but he is pretty up-tight about his money. All he really wants to do is play VietCong, GTA 3, and maybe some other games. Thanks. |

The GeForce 4 MX 440 should preform better than the GeFroce 2 MX 400, but I don't know if the MX440 will be enough to play GTA3. If they had a higher GeForce 2 or even a GeForce 3 PCI card, those might handle GTA3. GTA3 is a pretty demanding game.

That Radeon 9000 is the strongest gaming PCI card out there - but do you think that "little ole Celery" is going to be able to keep up with GTA3?

i looked at the minimum requirements for gta 3, and it meets them, it is about half way between minimum and recommended @ about 600 mhz I think it might do ok.
The ati 9000 looks awesome, but it is a little too expensive for him. |
