wma vs mp3

Hello,

Which encoding do you prefer? I usually refuse to use wma since winamp 2.x does not support it and it cant play in my car. But wma's "supposingly better"? what are your opinions? Thank you!

I think as you say, wma's are better quality but personally I also prefer mp3 files.

not much help, just my opinion

I prefer to encode as mp3's, in my experience I always found them to be better than wma.

Recently I started encoding into OGG, has better quality to filesize ratio than wma and mp3

At the same sampling rate, I found WMA to be a bit smaller, but sound no different than MP3. I encode as MP3 only because it's the most compatable.

I use MP3 because my car CD-player supports MP3 and not WMA. But I personally cant notice the difference in quality between even an MP3 and a CD without beeing very picky.

It's like the MP3 format, but with a better sampling rate and better quality, I believe.
