GeForce4 suggestions

I’m looking to buy a new GeForce4 128mb video card and was wondering which manufacturers are the most reliable and which ones have been more problematic. I was thinking either Gainward/Cardexpert, PNY or eVGA brands. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I just bought an ASUS. We like it - easy install and great quality. I've read a couple reviews on PNY that weren't real favorable. Don't know about the rest...

Asus and MSI both make good GF4 cards. I've heard of a lot of PNY cards having problems after about a year, and going down hill from there.

I had a Gainward card, and it ran fine with no problems.

And stay away from the MX line of GForces.

Strange that PNY gives problems and MSI doesn't - the PNY cards are just rebadged MSI.

There have been compatibility problems with the Gainward Ti4200.

Compatibility problems between the Gainward and what? Are you talking about the 'bad capacitator' problem with the Ti 4200 Golden Samples?

The one Gainward card I've sold was a 4200 64mb non-"golden sample" and it's been running fine for several months. So has the PNY 4400 I sold to the guy's dad. I also sold a 128mb Albatron 4200 to another customer and it's working great.
