Buying A ATI 9500
this is my first video card upgrade. I had a Geforce2 MX. is there anything I need to know about ATI cards or is it just the same thing?

bad driver history. oh wait, that was already said! Anyway, it is just what he said, history. Just make sure to get Catalyst 3.2 drivers and your good to go! Are you planning on modding or are going to get the 9500 pro?

*sure this is what is right??*
the memory has to be in an L shape around the core, not just on one side of it

the software mod may work then, as i think i read that to even have a chance of the mod working, you have to have a card with the memory in that configuration

Actually it is the only "guaranteed" version (L shape) to work.

It is the only version that has a chance to work.

This card will be great for HL games. Can you say, 'Counter Strike?'

::CRIES:: mine didnt work...
but the card is still awesome and is flawless and i overclocked it to 360/310 so its in real good shape im not to sad about the mod, i mean i wasnt that excited, cuz if it worked i would prolly say, "yea?" youll noe what im saying echo once you get the card especially after a gf2mx upgrade. |

i OCd my card and got some nice 3DMark scores, but i clocked it to standard and it still runs everything as fast as it did when OCd, so i left it at stock, why risk damage for negligible real world performance boost?

living on the edge is fun, but when you have zero spare cash and need the computer for other things than games, although gaming is the most important thing
![]() you dont want to risk crapping out your PC i like OCing, but i also like it when my PC works

My thoughts exactly, especially the 'zero spare cash' part.
