hello,
i am having trouble with me old monitor and gonna buy me a new one.... The only thing wich is holding me from it are the so difficult to understand the specs ... what are the things i must notice? DVi? is it worth it? quality/price or should i go for a normal screen? It's meant for gaming, movies,...etc. so i work alot with graphical stuff so the performance of the screen is important to me....also important for me is money, since i don't work.... 19" , 17" or should i go bigger? i now have an old 19"compaq screen any recommendations?

I use a Samsung 955DF 19" CRT, and I absolutely love it. The only time you would use DVI is for a LCD monitor, or is that what you meant?

That Samsung monitor that Alienware_Dude suggested is a nice monitor. If you want to save a little money you could always go with a 17" like the Samsung 753DF. It's a nice one too (my bro has one). Only thing is, if you are used to a 19", the 17" may seem pretty small for awhile until you get used to it again.

juppy is right, those Samsung 17" monitors are excellent. I used two of them for my last builds, and they're very good.

i have a 17" sony Trinitron monitor, i think its an HMD A200, and its a very good monitor, all i do is game really, its a bit of an old monitor now, but it still has excellent colour and the screen looks like its a lot bigger than it is.

I suggest you try a Trinitron first at the store to see if you can stand those two thin lines from the aperture grill. I cannot, so I will never ever buy a Trinitron, but it all depends on your own eyes. What bothers one person may doesn't even appear in someone else's radar.
