uninstall vid dr-then SVGA in XP
I wish to get rid of "ALL" the old 3dfx/openGL files in the reg and sys so that I can do a nice clean install of new Dr's for a VooDoo5.5AGP card on XP pro. If in 98 I could do this:
"Double click on the video card, then select the driver tab-->choose update driver-->then choose select from list-->Show all hardware-->standard video card-->SVGA card..." But when I try to get to SVGA in XP the only options I have are to go to another 3dfx driver. So I am not certain if I can remove all the reg entries and del all the files in the sys without screwing up something, I am not wording this well, sorry. But I dont think I can remove drivers while they are being used without causing a problem. If I could get in SVGA, I could remove them all then do the install. Any ideas? I cant believe that xp has no svga mode. They why I want to do this is because I have tried way to many different drivers for this card and I think that there is to much crap in there. thanks |
