leadtek winfast deluxe tv tuner install

Hello ... I purchased a Leadtek Winfast TV 2000 Deluxe XP tuner to replace my ATI TV WONDER VE. Iam running Windows XP with a P4 1.8 Ghz processor. During install my pc would not recognize the Winfast tuner. The new hardware found was my ATI card instead and loaded all the drivers for it. (I removed the ATI card first.) I tried removing all entrys in the registry referring to ATI and that didn't work. I loaded the new software and drivers from the Leadtek website to no avail.
Can anyone help me with this? I really hate this ATI tv VE card I have. It works and thats all! The picture quality is terrible and the sound pops each time you change channels or load the TV program. I purchased the Winfast tuner from Newegg.
