Is the ATI 9700 PRO enough better than a Leadtek Ti4400 to warrent the switch? I know the color will be much more brillant for DVS's and general viewing but what about performance? Just how much better? I know that for newer games and such but what else? Trying to figure if it would warrent changing cards. I am using a P4 2.4 processor on a PE motherboard.

Any suggestions on which 9700 Pro? Quite a few to chose from with about a $50 or so spread. (Not including All-In-Wonder which I am not considering)

ATI has had good luck with it's "Powered by" manufacturers.
Sapphire is always a good bet but really any of them will do. What you really want to check is http://www.resellerratings.com/ so you're clear on the rep of whoever is selling the card at a low price. |

But I did notice that Mwave is somewhat cheaper on their 9700 Pro's.

Newegg and MWave are top of the line. You'll have no trouble with either.

Keep the Ti4400 until 9800 come out and you see a 20-30 dolalr price drop.

Agreed, if you're gonna switch wait til the prices drop.
Comparing the two side by side, as has been the case for the last couple of years I'm more impressed with ATI's image quality, especially considering the fact that the 9700 Pro runs with Anti Aliasing on with very little loss in performance. And yes I've spent as much money at Mwave as I have Newegg and both are equally reputable dealers, I order from whichever of the two is cheaper for everything I buy. |

Impatient! Spending tax refund on this. I know now that the 9800s are coming the price will drop but maybe the one I want won't be available. I ordered the Sapphire 9700 PRO from Newegg. Free shipping right now! I ordered the black model-the one with the susposed better cooling fan. If it fails I can always install a Zalman fanless cooling system.
