dvdrhelp.com isnt helping me, can you guys help
i want to back up a dvd9 to a dvd5. i will be using dvdDecriptor to rip, dvd2one to reEncode, and copyToDVD to burn. my question is this...
I want to get the best video quality as possible, so i am willing to lose the subtitles, extras, menus, ect. when using dvd2one, at a certian point it ask what audio track to keep or remove(2ch, 6ch, english, french, ect). Being i want the best video i was thinking of only keeping the 6ch english. then i starting thinking how this would affect the playback if it were played back without surround sound(only 2 speakers). i want the 6ch for home, but here at school, i only use the 2 speakers on the tv. by keeping only the 6ch english track, will i lose some, if any 'sound' while playing it back in stereo? if this doesnt make sense please ask me to clearify some parts and i will, i reall yneed help in this, im not a expert on surround sound and how it works. thanks guys/girls brian wisser |

Why not keep both audio tracks?
Keeping the 2ch will only be another 150 to 200 megs in addition to the 6ch track. Just because there's no menu doesn't mean you can't switch audio tracks .

i know i can still switch audio tracks without a menu, i just wanted to remove more 'crap' to get a better picture. i didnt know it would only be 200 megs more, i guess that isnt too much, maybe i should just keep the 2ch and 6ch.
but can someone still answer my question in regard to the playback of 6ch signal with only 2 speakers???? |
