Zalman Card Coolers
Anyone try one of these on their video card? Was looking at them and they look interesting and would solve fans dying on video cards. Looks like an cool idea but do they work and are they hard to install? This would really be different on a case with a window.

I'm using a zalman fanless cooler on my Radeon 9700 pro, and have had no problems yet. It gets pretty hot, though. If your case doesn't have good airflow I wouldn't recommend this cooler. Also, don't use it to cool an overclocked video card. The one other consideration is that it takes up the PCI slot below the agp slot.

i am using few cards in the PCI slots. In fact I think that my modem is the only PCI card I am using. So for me this would not be an issue although the Heat issue would. I am using a 80mm AC fan on the rear exhaust. It really pulls the air out of the case.

You should only use the top PCI slot if that is the last one available anyway. A lot of the time it shares resources and IRQs with the AGP slot, so you can run into trouble using it.
I would recommend adding at least one fan to your one that you have. Your current fan is an exhaust, at the top rear of your case? If so, you should place an intake fan in the front bottom of your case to provide the best possible air flow. 80mm fans are pretty much the standard case fans, but make sure you get one that fits your case.

In addition to the Rear Exhaust,I have a slot fan in the rear plus a front intake fan ( 80mm) plus three mini fans (intake) in a 5-1/4" bay. If I need to I can cut a fan hole in the side of the case but these current fans probably will give adequate cooling as the rear fan is an AC and really pulls air out of the case.
