radeon 9500/9600 pro
Which one is faster? 9500 pro or 9600 pro? Should I wait for 9600 to come out or buy 9500 now for 199$?

The 9600 is faster. Usually the higher the number, the better the card. I'm not sure what the stats of the 9600 are, but if you wait for it and the 9800 to come out, the prices *should* drop on the other cards.

The 9600pro is not faster and I've posted a link to the Anandtech review in this thread :http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.p...threadid=62156

the 9600 will (supposedly) be about £120 in UK, which is quite a cheap card for the performance

I would recommend buying a 9500 Pro while you still can. It seems that the extra clock speed on the core and memory doesn't make up for having half the rendering pipelines. The Radeon 9500 Pro is probably your best bet for an ATI card in that price range. ATI, as well as Sapphire and Powercolor make quality Radeon cards.

Buy the ATi 9500 Pro or the Sapphire 9500 if you want to mod.

Mod the 9500 into a 9700 Pro. You can mod the 128 mb Radeon 9500 to a 9700. Then you can Overclock it to best a 9700 Pro. You can do this by soldering or by getting a nice download (software mod).

first make sure you have the right card. It is a red card made by Saphire (harder to find nowadays) and it is 128 MB and will have FOUR pipelines not EIGHT like the 9500 Pro. Yes, it must be the a non-pro. So that's Saphire, Red color, 4 pipelines and 128 MB.
