There is no actual question at this.
The Radeon, of course. But I'd go for a Radeon 9700PRO

Are you doing heavy duty gaming or will be in the future? If so, I'd say go with a 9700 Pro. However, if you only play like one or two games that aren't all that graphic intensive, you don't really need to spend the extra money on the Radeon...the GeForce will perform just fine.

Not too sure, he will be gaming but i don't know how heavily, also a 9700 PRO is a little too high right now

Then he will be fine with the non-Pro version.
Even when the GF4 can take on today's games pretty good, it's a dying architecture since the GF FX is out. Always think for the future so you won't be upgrading every 6 months. |

Could you say why you think that way?

it has been my experience that powercolor's aren't very good. they work ok for a while, then the image gets very distorted and games get really choppy. i've had this happen with two different video cards. just some food for thought.
otherwise, i would take a radeon 9700pro over the geforce any day. in this case, however, i think you'd get better performance with the asus built card.

I have had no trouble with my Powercolor 9700Pro. The Sapphire Atlantis 9700 OEM at $232.00 from newegg has the same core/clock speeds as the Powercolor 9700 Gold however the Sapphire card is not retail.

I'm an nVidia guy and I'd go with that card for money savings on a sweet card. Drisley gave us this:
http://www.pcmech.com/newsitem.php?id=277 HOWEVER, I voted for the ATI because the Pro version is THE CARD to have - hands down. Good Luck,
