WinXP - Media Player 9.0
Back in Jan. of this year I downloaded Media Player 9.0 to replace 8.0. I have not been happy with it so far and today decided to replace it back to 8.0.
Lo and behold, the only way to remove it and go back, according to the MS knowledge base, is with the system restore function. Since I have to go all the way back to Jan. 22, this would entail a great amount of work to get back to my current system settings, programs, etc., and I don't really want to do that. The question--- in 8.0 I could use "alt/enter" and get the player to go "full screen", no borders, buttons or anything. I have not been able to get 9.0 to go "full screen" without having some border and button pads to show. Does anyone know how to remove the borders, etc. like you could do with 8.0. |

When you go full screen, if you leave the mouse pointer, untouched, in the black area, after a few seconds the buttons and bars drop away to leave it as true "full screen". I have 9.0 and this works for me. HTH

Let it sit there for 45 seconds during the movie but nothing dropped away. Will keep trying.

In full screen there is a push pin icon in the upper left corner, press this then wait for the bars to disappear. Moving the mouse will bring the bars back.

Thanks. I just found that I needed to have a box to "enable the full screen mode switch" checked in the "tools/options/performance/advanced" menu.
Once I did that, everything worked OK. |
