Logitech Z-640, Annoying Humm
I just purchased these speakers and there is an annoying humm coming from the subwoofer. I have been to the Logitech site and there does seem to be an issue with these and some of there other models.
Well I have done everything they suggested to get rid of this humm to no avail. The only way the humm goes away is to turn them off wich defeats there purpose. Does anyone here happen to know how I could get rid of this humm? Anyone else have this problem? I'm just going to return them If I cant figure it out. It's to bad, for the price they sound great, asside from the humm. Thanks for any help. db |

Okay, this is just a guess, but, are there any other electronic devices near the speakers (besides the computer)? If there are, try moving them away and see if that works.
Also (this probably isn't the problem), the volume might be very high, which could create a humming sound. |

I've thought about the electrical devices and tried moving the speakers away from everything, as far as putting them in an empty room with nothing electrical even close by and I get the same result. And the volume, well with the volume all the way down I get the same humm
I think I may just return them. Damn damn damn, they sound so good to besides that humm, oh well. Please though if any one else has any ideas please post. Thanks Mrmister1 for your ideas. db |

would it even matter if they were near anything electrical?
if they are shielded it would have no effect, my subwoofer has an 8 socket heavy duty surge protector behind it, and i should think its putting out some serious EMI, but my sound is clear and no hum

I have the Z-640s and the Audigy 2 card. I don't experience any humming, though I think the integrated sound on my mobo was just about as good. Make sure that they are configured right in Creative's speaker setup utility.
