i have a GF4 Ti4200, its not been designed specifically for overclocking, as there is only the chip cooler, no ram coolers, however i do have an extraction in the bay directly under it, which quickly whips out all hot air. i am really wondering how far i can o/c this thing with no extra cooling. basically, i was trying to push up the ram speed, and i read somewhere, to find the optimum ram speed you do the following
1000 / 4 * 2 where 4 is because my memory on the card has an access time of 4ns and *2 because of ddr. this gives me the answer of 500Mhz, quite a lot faster than it is currently set. the big Q: can i do it with no extra cooling? cheers Arbz. edit: oh also, how far could i push the chip... its an AOpen GF4200 Ti with 128Mb ram |

Start by increasing the core and memory clock speeds by a couple of MHz and then check to see if you get any graphic glitches or lockups. If you don't, go a little further. If you do start to get some glitches bump the speeds down a bit and keep them there. Also monitor the temps to make sure they are still at an acceptable level.

The video will get flaky before it's hot enough to cause problems.
