cmedia 8738 sound problem! Help!

Hello,
I installed win 2000 on my machine and dowloaded the new drivers for the cmedia 8738 pci sound card but now it acts funny.I have a 5.1 speaker setup and it works fine in games and in the windows desktop environment, but when I put in a music cd the only the front two speakers work and the subwoofer doesnt as well. I cant figure out why this happens. Any ideas?

Hi,

Check the audio cable connecting the drive with the soundcard is positioned properly and that it is seated on the soundcard on the right slot properly.

Take a look at the supplied software for any audio settings that may affect which speakers are used, for example, the software may be set at using two speakers by default instead of the whole set for playing CDs.

Try setting your drives to use digital sound playback, there by removing the need for cables !!!
