How can I use my TV as the monitor?

What kind of feature do I have to look for in the video card to use the TV as the monitor?

It must have some sort of alternate output besides the standard VGA. Most cards ship with an S-video out port that will connect to your tv as long as the tv has an S-video in port. However, I think they make S-video to RCA adapters so you could use one of those and plug it into something like an RF Modulator if your tv doesn't support S-video.

Similar question to the on posted...I have a Gainward 750XP card, with a VIVO interface...actually its an adapetr that plugs into the video card and gives me four jacks, 1 red RCA 1 yellow RCA, 1 yellow S-video and 1 red S-video.....

My tv is about 25 feet away....my question is what do I need to hookup the computer to the tv to watch DVD's

For sound I'm currently using the onboard sound (its a Asus p4s8x mobo with C-media 5.1 sound, has the standard audio-in, audio out and aux port)

Will a single RCA cable from the video card to the tv suffice for the video...or shall I use S-video cable....any signal loss at 25 feet.

And for sound, what kind of cable... or should I just use the comp for sound output?

Any help would be appreciated?

I'm running 24' of s-video to my TV with no problems for the audio I'm using my sound card and 5.1 speakers. With my sound card having a remote control it sure makes it nice to control the volume.

For using a TV as a general use monitor it does sux, but for watching DVD's the quality is pretty good.
