Yes, that is the largest commonly used resolution. 800x600 is also very common.

For 15" you should stick with 800x600 although running it at 1024x768 won't hurt. Most larger monitors run good at 1024x768 (or higher)...that's what I have my 17" set to.

I'm running a 19" at 1280x1024 - I tried 1600x1200 and I needed a magnifying glass.

According to my website stats, 63% use 800x600, 24% use 1024x768, and 13% use "other", which includes larger and smaller.
This result is rather skewed, because it's more noob's visiting, than experienced, but it's a good indication of what's most used.
Personally, 1152x864 on 17", 800x600 on 14" (yes, I still have one of those), and 1024x768 on 15".

Cool

800X600 on both my wife's PC with 19" CRT and my 17" TFT.Our old eyes strain too hard with anything smaller.

I use a 1024x768 desktop on my 19" 955DF. However, for gaming, I usually run at 1600x1200.

My 17" is usually run at 1024 x 768 .
But when I have a lot of text files that will take "forever" I set the monitor at 800 x 600. It makes life much easier on the eyes.

1152x864 on a 17" looks like 1024x768 on a 15". I like to keep things in proportion!

Most 17"+ LCD monitors nowadays have a native resolution of 1280x1024 which is a very comfortable and doesn't put much strain on the eyes.

I dont like 1152 x 864. For me it means a smaller refresh. I have sensitive eyes so i can detect a lot of flicker between 85 hz and 75 hz. I keep mine at 1024 x 768. (17")
