tv card question
hey guys,
i am interested in picking up a tv card for my pc. i've heard that ati makes good ones, but i've been confused about the difference between them. i was looking at the ati tv wonder pci and the tv wonder ve. there's a difference in price by about $40 CDN. I looked on the ati website and checked their specs, but there wasn't any differences listed. can anyone help me out here? thanks, - ryan |

The only thing I can determine is that the TV Wonder PCI has "Stereo TV Tuner", and S-Video input, and the TV Wonder VE has neither. http://secure.newegg.com/app/specifi...tem=15-116-304

hey guys,
thanks for the replies. i'm pretty sure i can, but i wanted to ask anyway. can i hook up my ps2/xbox into one of these cards and play them on my monitor? and if so, would there be any benefit to using the vga monitor over the tv? thanks again, - ryan btw - if i cannot connect my video game systems to my computer via the tv card, is there any other way i can do it? (besides purchasing another video card with video in) |

one of my friends just actually bought a vga adaptor for his xbox ... he loves it.
basically its just a plain adaptor with a switch(so you don't have to keep plugging and unplugging between the tv and your monitor) and he says the visual quality is outstanding on a computer monitor! the good thing about the newer console vga adaptors is they output to a bigger resolution than you can get with a tv ... so that means a sharper picture. here are a few links that might help you out: Ps2 VGA Adaptor: http://www.play-asia.com/paos-13-509...ex=0&query=vga XBox VGA Adaptor: http://www.play-asia.com/paos-13-50a...ex=0&query=vga Full Search of VGA Adaptors (at play-asia.com): http://www.play-asia.com/paos-19.html/&p_query=vga Hope this helps, -- kisk ... btw, if you like what you see, buy from play-asia.com ... my friend said their service is top-knotch -- prompt costomer service and fast shipping =) Last edited by kisk; 05-13-2003 at 12:27 AM. |
