Lightbulb TNT only Card?

Hello people. How's it going?

I'm thinking of upgrading my motherboard with a dedicated graphics card because i don't think i'm gettin very good performance from using my own memory and a Sis chipset. I went on the website the other day and i found my motherboard, but it said it only worked with TNT cards.

Does that mean a TNT chipset card, or do i need to find a manufacturer from the other side of the earth called TNT who just so happen to make graphics cards.
Also, is this only true for the AGP? Could i go out and by a non TNT card for the PCI slot or would that be a risk in itself?

Thanks for your help......

PS. Specs are in the sig.

Your board should accept just about anything - it has a 4x AGP slot.

TNT is an old Nvidia chipset, long gone, the only one still being made is the TNT2 M64, which is no better than your onboard SiS.

Remember that a Jetway is a relabeled PC Chips board, and that SiS chipset and the SDRAM are really holding that processor back - as is the 5400 rpm hard drive.

So basically, as long as the card supports the bandwith of the AGP 4x slot, it will work in my board.

Just need to check as i don't want to go out and buy a card that won't work.

Cheers...

Yep, thats about it, any 4x AGP card should be OK.

Please be aware tho' that although this should be true, you may come across a card that just will not go. If you cantry and get a quality brand of card, that way you should have less problems.
