Angry Fire Drivers Problem

Hi, i have a very old computer my computer is a Packard Bell model Club 30, the processor is a Ctrix M II-300, RAM 64MB, Video card Memory 4MB, Hard disk 2.1GB, Motherboard is a packard bell mediatrainer and the sound card is a ESS 1869 - 16 bit. I formatted the hard disk and put windows 98 second edition on it but there wasn't any drivers for the monitor and the video card. I downloaded the drivers for the monitor but i can't change the color scheme to 256 colors it is stuck on 16 colors. so i tried to get the video card drivers and when i installed them and restarted the computer the computer produced a error when loading windows but it only loads windows in safe mode but i removed the drivers and windows works fine. Please help me to get the color scheme to 256 colors.

There is a known problem with Win 98/SE and the drivers for that graphics card, fortunatly there is a patch that sorts it out.

I used to have it, and will have a look around so I can upload it to you (if I can find it).

Failing that someone here might remember the link to it (it's not on the SiS site as far as I can see).

Here. is a link to the SiS driver page that you need, but the patch I cannot find, will keep looking.

EDIT: Been having a look about and found THIS I cannot try them out, but I sugest that you will loose nothing by trying them.

If you can work your way around the SiS site - the file you need should be 597v113.exe.

The driverguide driver that kissfan found may be a better bet. You may also be able to dig the video driver out of your restore CD if you still have it.

It's not our policy to give out passwords to protected sites, but everyone knows the way to get into Driverguide - the username is "drivers" and the password is "all" (without the quotes).
