What's the benifit of getting Detonator drivers? What exactly are they for?

Uncertified Nvidia drivers. Usually way better than stock MS ones for GeForce cards.
I ALWAYS update to the latest Detonator on all my GF cards. |

Will the latest detonators improve a TI4600 much?
The 30% claims sound incredible, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was for FX only. |

It will only come with the price of reduced image quality. You only have x amount of gpu power, mem speed, instructions, cache on card, etc. It is simply a trade off. Just like in every other aspect of computing, you have finite resources. The key, as always, is fine tuning what you have to respond the way you want it to.
Seems that often folks think that the card makers have found untapped properties in their cards (9500 non pro into 9700 excluded) and opened a vast performance increase that had laid untapped for some strange reason.
