just bought a digital camcorder
the sony trv 250....bought it at circuit city.
my son graduates from pre-k so i wanted to capture that moment. my question is whats the difference between digital/hi 8 and dv......

Hi tigstah,
Basically, Hi 8 is still "tape" quality, but is considered better than VHS. DV is, of course, Digital Video which is entirely different. Tape is analog, DV is digital. The format of the stored data is different and DV is of higher quality, and can be edited easier, and it is easily put back-n-forth between the camera and computer thru a FireWire port. You will want to shot your footage in DV format. You can always record it to a VCR if you want a regular tape. HTH TwoRails |
