Hi mystvearn,
I've always used a GF card with VIVO, but my next one will be an ATI AIW. The 9700 Pro AIW is out now for about $350, and the AIW 9800 Pro is due out in a month or three ("spring") for about $450 TwoRails |

For all that you get with it, the 9700 Pro is hard to beat.
Considering you'd pay 200 for a good gaming card and another 100 for a good capture card, paying 350 for an all in one card is not that bad a deal imo. |

There's an all in wonder 9700 yes. It's more than the regular 9700 pro, but it's available.

Ic. Now with the types of brand, which is good one. Any links
I have never used ATI before-I have been using RIVA tnt, RIVA TNT2, gf2ti. Does it suppport DX9? Does ATi make their own cards? or is it like Nvdia-sell to third party to make the card? Last edited by mystvearn; 05-19-2003 at 07:24 AM. |

ATI 9500's and higher have DX9 hardware support. ATI does it both ways, they make their own and they allow others to build them, but they maintain quality control over the 3rd party manufacturers unlike Nvidia.

so the cards do not have significant variations in speed from one maker to the other maker? I have seen that when comparing cards using Nvdia chipset.
