128mb Pci?
well, i was going to start a new build, but it looks like it's going to have to wait for now. here's what i'm currently running, mostly used for gaming...
PIII 866/133 256MB RAM 40gb hdd Geforce2 mx400 64MB i think i'm going to upgrade RAM to 512 and go for a new vid card. any comments on a 128MB PCI card? i noticed they are kinda hard to find now, newegg doesn't even carry them. would it really be worth the money? i just don't have the cash for a new build now |

ok well i found a geforce fx5200 128mb pci card, but it says it requires at least a 250W power supply. my hp has a crappy little 90W. i'm guessing the card really won't work... if i put a 250 or 300W power supply on my system will i fry anything?

It's very likely the HP has a proprietary ATX connector on the motherboard - which would rule out a power supply transplant. Save your money for a new build, try to enjoy what you have for now. Cut the game details and resolutions back and they should run OK with a 2MX.
