I am going to a couple of weddings over the next few weeks.
I would like to be able to take some photographs (digital and 35mm) and transfer them to a format using an ordinary cd writer (not DVD writer) that can then be viewed on a DVD player as a film or picture show. I have been told that you can somehow produce a video cd or super video cd which will play - but my attempts so far have been unsuccesfull Can this be done? - if so what software will I need to achieve it and what steps do I need to take to ensure it plays I am in the UK so I presume I will need software suitable for the DVD region in which I am. Thanks in anticipation Paul |

Well, I'm pretty sure that DVD players do both regular CDs and DVD format stuff. But even if not there would surely be some converter.
To me a picture show as you mentioned means a slide projector program. There are tons of those around. I use a program called ACDC but there are plenty of others around. They run automatically and you can adjust the time per slide, whether you want it small or full screen etc. In a film format like with a film editing program called Adobe Premiere, you could set the photo frame to run at 1 frame per second or 1 frame for any number of seconds. But because of the need for compression the process is more time consuming and seems impractical unless you are mixing it in with regular film. Also, I don't think you can change the number of seconds a frame will show once you set it up. A slide projector program would be a better bet if all you want to do is show the photos. It's more versatile in that you can always change the number of seconds a photo runs, pause on a photo, set it to full screen, or move to a photo in the middle of the group at any time.
