Sound Files play at wrong speed....TOO FAST

Just put an adobe training disk in my cd rom, which has worked ok before on another computer, and when I play it the sound is comeing out quicker...

The mans voice which is a broad yorkshire voice, is normally booming, but now it sounds like he has had a full tank of helium.!

I have tried playing other sounds... a normal cd is ok.! but other wavs..also play faster.!

Is this a driver problem or a windows problem...its really weird.!

Its a gigabyte mobo with onboard AVANCE AC97 sound.!

Cheers

Look at the tabs in Media player, it has an option to select the playback speed from 0.5 to 8 in many different increments, when I get home I will detial the exact procedure that you need to do, it you look within the player you should be able to find it.
