Radeon 9600

Quick question, are there major differences between the 9600 and the 9600 Pro? Also, are there major differences between the 9600 and 9500 series? Thanks.

Not sure of the exact differences, but if I recall correctly the 9500 is a better card. I think it has more pixel units per pipeline or something like that. The 9600 may be a new card, but both support DirectX 9. If you are looking at buying a card in that price range, the 9500 is a good choice. My Powercolor Radeon 9500 Pro 128MB card handles pretty much anything, and I believe my CPU is my main bottleneck in games now. I run games in 1024x768 usually, with 32 bit color, 6x FSAA and 16x Anisotropic filtering. Great picture quality, very acceptable frame rates. Definitely a good choice.

of course clock speed is no issue if you plan to oer clock. the only thing that irks me about these cards is the simple addition of more memory and suddenly the newer card is like 10X better. (not always)...
