Which sound card is better?
Between the Creative Labs Sound Blaster Digital 5.1 Live! and Hercules Gamesurround Fortissimo III 7.1?

IMO, I like the Creative Labs Sound Blaster series... I've never experienced a problem with mine at all...

I'll second that. Nary a problem with the ones I've bought!

out of those 2 id say the fortissimo 7.1, although if you can wait the audigy 2 card only would be better than both together.

I have a Fortissimio III 7.1 card and it rocks! Much better then the Creative Audigy or Soundblaster Live!. Though you have to download the latest drivers online (the ones on the CD are ancient) its a great buy, only $29.95 (after rebate) at CompUSA.

the fortissimo series use an older feature, called sensaura, if you play games a lot, this can cause bad sound on games with EAX, e.g. near and far sound, stuttery sound, i have these with my fortissimo

It's not a matter of "better" - its more a matter of compatibility.
