New Build, Video Problems

I just finished putting together my gaming machine. Here are some of the specs on it:

A7N8X Deluxe PCB 2.0
Athlon 2500+ "Barton"
Corsair Matched 512 MB DDR (x2)
(All are retail versions)

I put the Xtasy 5564 GForce2 MX400 video card I had from my old system into this new system. I boot it up, get the boot up screen, etc, but then I notice that the AGP led is red! I then figure out that the vid card is a 2X, which I guess isn't supported by the mobo. I take an old PCI TNT2 card and put it in, and it works fine.

Now is where my problem comes. I need a new vid card, so I go to Walmart and buy an Asylum GeForce FX 5200 128 MB DDR 8xAGP. I put it in, and I don't get any video at all. The fan on the card will rotate, but the AGP led on the mobo doesn't light up at all. I put the Xtasy vid card back in to make sure I didn't fry something, and it does what it did before. I think the Asylum board may be screwed, but I'm not sure. I will take it out shortly and put it in another pc to see if it works in it. In the meantime, does anyone have any experience with this problem? When I boot with the Asylum card, the monitor doesn't even come out of standby. Thanks for any info.

later.

Did you set the BIOS to AGP for primary instead of PCI ? You find this under "Integrated Peripherals" Also make sure AGP frequency is set to Auto and the voltage is set to 1.5V.
