DivX - how?

Hi Everyone!

A lot of content is in the DivX format. How do I get it to run on my antique WMP 6.4?? I don't want to install newer version of WMP, just add drivers or the like to the existing WMP.

Thanks!

Hi Two Rails,

You might also consider downloding the Windows Media 9 player codecs (if you haven't already done).. I'm also still using WMP 6.4 but have try to keep it souped up with the latest codecs. HTH

The DivX player from DivX.com will provide MUCH better quality playback than media player. The first version was great though a little bit unstable, but I have had NO problems with the most recent one.

The FREE one, of course.

I couldn't recommend it more.

Hi Two Rails,

I believe all you need to do is download the codecs and install them. Here's a link:

Sorry for the delay in getting back...

Finally got to watch the HL2 trailer!! Thanks for the help Everyone!!

I did the MS update first, which allowed me do actually download the movie (it wouldn't before) but the video wouldn't play. So then I installed the DivX drivers (no player) and then WMP 6.4 hummed along just fine!!

Thanks again!
