WMA display problem

I have a problem that has popped up recently when using Windows Media Player, or other video players processing AVI files. I think I have somehow gotten an oddball codec installed, but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to get rid of it! What happens is that a running set of numbers that appear to be frame numbers appear in the middle of the display. This happens with PowerDVD if I play AVI files, but not MPG files. OTOH, it happens all the time with WMP, with either AVI or MPG files. Here's a picture of the display. I'd love to know where this thing is coming from so I can get rid of it.

Looks funny too never encountered such a problem my advice would be to download WMP v9.0 and install in over your present version and see what happens or wait for some'one to solve your problem!
